For centuries glassblowers have endured tremendous heat to coax sublime forms from the fire using their breath and a few basic tools. Little has changed today. From its furnace-blackened steelwork to the ancient shaping tools, our glass studio looks like something out of another age.

Glenistair studied glass at Monash University in Melbourne and has had over twenty years experience in creating vibrant works in glass for Saltmarsh and retail galleries throughout Australia. Each piece is defined by the unpredictable character of the medium - the liquidity of molten glass and Glenistair’s imagination as the artist, which ensures no two pieces are ever the same.

Stunning glass vases, bowls, platters and sculptures, in a vast number of colours and forms are displayed in our store where the natural light reflects the beauty of these handmade forms.

Glenistair blows and sculpts glass in blocks of time throughout the year and at certain times we welcome visitors into the studio to come and watch (usually in the school holidays). Also if you would like to give glass making a go, please contact us. Sessions can be organised for individuals, corporate teams and family groups.
